Fermanagh native Jamie Lannon had a successful outing in Bangor last week competing at the McCullagh International.

Over 500 swimmers from 62 different clubs attended Bangor Aurora Swimming Complex in Co. Down from last Thursday to Sunday.

The 16-year-old competed in five races with the Longford Swim Club with the 100m and 200m a highlight for the youngster.

A 1:08.36s swim saw him qualify for the final where he would finish 16th overall being the youngest competitor in both A and junior finals and achieve a PB.

Lannon went on to race in the 200m where he would secure two PBs with a 2:33:39 time, six seconds quicker than his previous record.

He then went on to beat that time with a 2:31.34 finish in the Junior final grabbing a 14th placed finish overall.

Between prelims and finals, Lannon had a few outings in Breaststroke swims where he would achieve times for the national squad.
