SEAN Mc SORLEY

Mc SORLEY Sean We, the Brothers, Sisters, Nieces and Nephews of the late Sean McSorley would like to thank all those who sympathised with us on our recent sad bereavement. We thank those who called to the house, attended the removal and the funeral; all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters and floral tributes. We thank all our cousins, friends and neighbours for their attentiveness to Sean and to us during his protracted illness. We especially wish to record our gratitude to those close neighbours who gave so much support during this very difficult time. When initially Sean was confined to the house we were indebted to all the Carers for their services. Thereafter, we owe a debt to the Doctors and Nursing Staff of Ward 8, South West Acute Hospital who provided such professional and compassionate care. Although Sean's subsequent stay in the Millcroft Nursing Home was brief, the care he received was exemplary. A special word of thanks to Canon John McKenna for all his regular visits to Sean in hospital and at home; and for his warm receiving of the remains at the Chapel. The presence of Fr Padraig McKenna with his uplifting homily and co-concelebrants Canon Shane McCaughey, Fr Artie McCann CP, and Fr James O'Kane SMA at the funeral was greatly appreciated. Thanks are due to all who took part in the Funeral Liturgy - the Readers, Mass Servers, Gift Bearers, the Eucharistic Ministers and especially to Patricia and Claire who provided such beautiful music and hymns. The guard of honour by St Macartans GFC would have made Sean very proud. Thanks to Dominic Kelly, undertaker, for the professional way in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. We were delighted with the touching pipe music which accompanied Sean to his final resting place and which was so appropriate given his love for traditional music. Thanks are also due to Mahons Hotel for providing a lovely meal after the funeral. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation. Sean's Month's Memory Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 9th September in St Macartan's Church, Trillick at 10.00am. Trillick, Derry, Eskra, Fife, Kent and Connecticut.
