IRENE HYNDS

HYNDS Irene Assistant Principal of St Mary's Grammar School in Magherafelt sadly passed away on 16th April after a long illness. Her husband Seamus, son Daniel and the extended Hynds and Toye families wish to acknowledge all those who played a part in Irene's Funeral which took place on 18th April at the Church of our Lady of the Assumption in Magherafelt following which she was laid to rest at the graveyard of St Tierney's Church in Roslea. We wish to thank everyone who cared for Irene over the last year. The Surgeons and Oncologists in Belfast City Hospital and all the Nurses who gave Irene such excellent care post operation and during her treatment. The Doctors and Staff in Garden Street Surgery, the Dalriada Doctors, the Staff in McGlauglins and O'Briens Pharmacies. To the District Nurses based in Bellaghy, your care was outstanding. To the Doctors and Nurses in Antrim Hospital and the Macmillan Unit who looked after Irene during her final days we thank you all. To the Principal, Staff and Pupils of St Marys. You provided the resources for the Wake while the music at the Mass provided by Miss Donnelly and the Choir was so beautiful and so fitting for Irene. The Guard of Honour afterwards was very touching. There were so many Teachers past and present who called at the house and the same applies to Pupils. To Mr Quinn and Miss Hagan who organised much of this, prepared the Mass booklet and cleaned the house after the service. Thanks also to the Principal and Staff of St Pius X College who provided such great support to Daniel. To the Priests who visited Irene during her last few days in Antrim. The Mass Father Gorman celebrated at her hospital bed was particularly special. To Father Gates for the sincerity with which he celebrated the Requiem Mass and to all the Priests who concelebrated. To Father Gates and the Magherafelt Parish Centre for providing refreshments after the Mass. Thanks also to Father Chester and Father Moore who officiated at the burial service in Roslea. To everyone who attended the Wake, the Mass or the Burial Service in Roslea. To the Neighbours and Friends who provided food for the Wake and to those who made the tea and served the food. To the Nesbitt family for providing their yard for parking, the Loup GAA Club who managed the parking and the Ryan family for closing their shop when the Funeral passed by. To everyone who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, phoned or sent text messages of support we thank you all. To the McCuskers, the Undertakers for their highly professional approach and thanks to Aidan Connolly (Undertaker) and the Grave Diggers in Roslea. Irene's Month's Mind Mass will take place on Saturday 19th May at the Church of our Lady of the Assumption in Magherafelt at 6.15 pm. There will also be a Month's Mind Mass at St Tierney's, Roslea on 26th May at 6.30 pm.
