The first Northern Ireland Food and
Drink Festival is to run for four weeks
from September 16, the Agriculture
Minister, Brid Rodgers announced
this week.
During the four weeks of the Festial, Northern Ireland food and
drink will be highlighted in 90 retail stores throughout the
Province, a garden gourmet will be held at Botanic Gardens on
September 21 and 22 and industry awards will be made at
Belfast City Hall on October 10.
The Minister said that the idea of the Festival was to promote all
the products at different markets and increase the uptake of local
produce.
She said that as a consumer, she encouraged other consumers
to follow her example and buy local produce.
