The first Northern Ireland Food and Drink Festival is to run for four weeks from September 16, the Agriculture Minister, Brid Rodgers announced this week.

During the four weeks of the Festial, Northern Ireland food and drink will be highlighted in 90 retail stores throughout the Province, a garden gourmet will be held at Botanic Gardens on September 21 and 22 and industry awards will be made at Belfast City Hall on October 10.

The Minister said that the idea of the Festival was to promote all the products at different markets and increase the uptake of local produce.
