Arlene Foster bids for selection as Assembly candidate
Mrs. Arlene Foster has indicated that she will be standing for selection as a prospective candidate for the Assembly election for the Ulster Unionist party.

Last week the local branch of the party advertised for candidates willing to put their names forward for selection to apply by the end of this month. Selection is expected to take place in early October.

Mrs. Foster is the first to officially state that she is a candidate for selection.

“A number of people have approached me to put my name forward,” Mrs. Foster said this week. After discussing the situation with her family and colleagues, she decided to put her name forward.
