Mallard’s season far from over
Football: To watch your team lose on
penalties as a supporter is hard to take, as a
manager it must be excruciating. For Harry
McConkey, who has done so much to bring
Ballinamallard to this level, the penalty
defeat undoubtedly hit hard but he was in
stoic mood come Tuesday and, in fairness,
he has every reason to be so.

If ’Gers defeat Kesh they survive
Football: Enniskillen Rangers 0 Lisnaskea
Rovers 0 – The score line suggests a boring
scoreless draw. The truth is, two poor sides
battling bravely to avoid relegation, both
lacking a goalscorer.

Electrical failure leaves Jennings in the dark
Rallying: It has been a tough fortnight for

Pirelli Rally.

Eventful day’s racing for Britton
Motorcyling: The road-racing season really
got underway on Saturday, with a dramatic
Cookstown 100 meeting, made treacherous
and unpredictable by the ever-changing
road conditions. Enniskillen rider Richard
Britton had a relatively successful day, with
several top finishes, although a race win
proved elusive.

Life’s a beach and then you improve
GAA: From Enniskillen to Croke Park, on to
Gran Canaria and back to Enniskillen, it had
been a long week for the Fermanagh team
and their mentors. From the manicured
playing surface of Croker to the less
forgiving sand dunes of Playa del Ingles, the
Fermanagh players had met with defeat,
disappointment, hope and optimism in equal
measure but, by their return, the optimism
with which they had left for Dublin had
returned and while the focus was now on
Donegal as opposed to Tyrone, the aim was
very much the same - victory in their next
match.
