Junior Charolais champions from
Fermanagh herds
There was a strong local presence at the
Northern Ireland National Charolais Show at
Fintona at the weekend. Although the overall
championship did not come to Fermanagh,
local breeder, Kenny Veitch from Drumlone,
Lisbellaw, took the reserve award in the
male championship with his junior male
champion, Drumlone Trooper. This bull is by
PTI Prince a French sire with a very high
muscle score. Trooper’s grand sire is
Melliard and his dam is Blelack Gabriella,
which Kenneth purchased at the Christmas
Cracker sale where she was reserve
supreme champion. She has turned out to
be a great breeding cow in his herd.
