Edna Farrell (aged 40), of 4 Old Station Park, Ballinamallard, passed away on Saturday, September 6.

Edna was born and raised in Ballinamallard, where she attended the local Primary School, the Duke of Westminster Secondary School and then Fermanagh College.

    She started her employment with Brady Insurance, followed by Travel Agency work and latterly with the N.I. Civil Service. In addition to this, Edna was a serving member of the Ulster Defence Regiment/

    Royal Irish Regiment since 1981. She proved herself to be a conscientious and dedicated employee and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities within her job.

    Her chosen careers reflected her personality, one of fitness, strength and determination. Edna loved to travel, visiting many countries both far and near. She also loved to be around her family and valued the time spent with them. She was a very sincere and loving person, always giving, always thinking of others.

    She will be deeply missed by family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours.

    Edna is survived by her parents, William and Isobel Farrell (Ballinamallard); brother Samuel and family (Lisbellaw); sister Florence and family (Enniskillen); brother Richard and family (Ballinamallard) and sister Wilma and family (Enniskillen).

    The funeral was from her parents’ home, Tullyrain, Ballinamallard to Maghera-cross Parish Church and the burial was in Craghan Cemetery.

    The service was conducted by Chancellor Victor McKeon and the funeral arrangements were by W. T. Morrison, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
