Aaron is first winner of new Clogher Valley Show cup
Aaron Boyd, from a farming family in the Augher area, is the winner of the last remaining cup to be decided from this year’s Clogher Valley Show.

On Tuesday night of this week, Aaron was announced the winner of the Arthur Thompson Memorial Trophy for the person who made the most significant contribution to the success of this year’s show.

Aaron, a trainee sales representative with A.N. Irwin and Co, animal feeds merchants from Eglish, and one of the Show’s sponsors, was delighted to receive the award made at a meeting of the committee of Clogher Valley Show.

Mrs. Karen Gillis, a daughter of the late Mr. Thompson, presented the award. Aaron takes a week of his holidays each year to help prepare the sheep field and also took over the collection area from Mr. Thompson.

Clogher Show secretary, Mrs. Ruth Montgomery said Aaron was most deserving of the award and hopes it will encourage other young people in their community to participate in the show’s success in the future.
