A well-known farmer and cattle
dealer, Henry (Harry) Noble from
Drumshane, Lisnarick has died in
sudden and tragic circumstances on
March 20.Born on January 19, 1920 at Dromore Big, Drumskinney, Kesh,
Henry was one of a family of five, (three brothers and two
sisters). He attended Dernasesk School leaving at an early age
to work on the home farm. He went on to become a cattle dealer
travelling to marts on both sides of the border. Although he had
not been attending agricultural sales in recent years he was still
remembered and held in high regard by many of those
associated with the trade, as was evident from the large
attendance at his funeral.
In 1945 he married Alice Frazer from Muckross, Kesh, and set up
home at Agharainey where their two children were born. Around
1955 they moved to Lisnarick and eventually on retirement
moved a short distance to ‘Bon-Air”, Drumshane.
The service of thanksgiving for Henry’s life took place in Castle
Archdale Church. It was conducted by the rector, Canon
Raymond Thompson. The hymns were “What a Friend We Have
in Jesus”, and “Nearer My God to Thee”. A solo, “The Lord’s My
Shepherd” was sung by Mr. John Craig. Burial was in the
adjoining cemetery.
Henry was predeceased by his wife, Alice, and son-in-law
Tommy Robinson and is survived by his daughter Ivy,
Irvinestown and son Ernest, Lisnarick. He leaves four
grandchildren Bert, Jill, Vanessa and Priscilla, also one great
grand-daughter, Molly.
He also leaves two sisters Margaret Ann, Scotland, and Irene,
Drumclay Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his two
brothers, Bob and George.
The funeral arrangements were by S. R. Elliott and Sons, Darling
Street, Enniskillen.
