Indeed, if they fail to win the league then they will certainly pinpoint this game as a missed opportunity.

Football: The fearsome sight of Thierry Henry and Robert Pires looks set to occupy the mind of Roy Carroll over the weekend as Manchester United team manager Sir Alex Ferguson intimated at the weekend that Roy will be given the task of stopping the league’s top team in a must win game for United on Sunday.

    1. Former Enniskillen Town United goalkeeper, 19 year old Michael McGovern (above), looks set to be on the bench for Celtic tonight (Thursday) when they play their crucial UEFA cup tie against Barcelona in the Nou Camp.

    1. Bowls: The popular Wellington pair John McVitty and Dessie Carson clinched this year’s Magheracross Pairs title after a ‘nail biting’ final in which it took an additional end to decide this year’s winners.

    1. Swimming: A team of strong young swimmers from Lakelanders Swimming Club weathered the stormy conditions early on Saturday morning, determined to pit their levels of physical and mental endurance at longer distances against some of the finest competitors in the province.

  • Ladies impress in first year in Ulster League
    1. Rugby: Enniskillen RFC hosted all six Ulster Ladies Clubs on Sunday for the final round of the Ulster League.

  • Ireland’s best make a splash
    1. Supermoto: St. Angelo again played host to some of the top supermoto and quad bike racers in Ireland with the incessant wind and rain abating just in time to allow Sunday’s event to be a great success. Among the mnay riders from Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Belfast, Donegal and Lisburn were a host of riders from the west of the Bann that more than held their own.

  • Selection gives Gavin extra focus
    1. Athletics: Triathlete Gavin Noble achieved a remarkable double this week, when the Fermanagh man secured a place as the sole Irish representative at both the Men’s World Under-23 Championships and the Senior European Triathlon Championships. His selection comes after a successful year in 2003, which saw the 22-year-old put in a string of impressive performances against triathletes from throughout the world.

  • Down hurdle surmountable
    1. GAA: To progress to the semi-final stage of this years Ulster U-21 Championship, Fermanagh must overcome the difficult assignment of a clash with Down, withe game made all the harder as Down have home advantage.

  • Last gasp agony for Minors
    1. GAA: Ulster Minor League - Fermanagh 0-7 Donegal 1-5 – Fermanagh were very unfortunate to lose their opening game in the Ulster Minor League when they lost out by a single point to Donegal at Irvinestown.
