Anthony McBrien is launching his first filmed on location DVD at a special night in Mahon's Hotel on Monday, December 12.

The Derrylin native has been playing music for 20 years and brings out the hour-and-a-quarter DVD filmed on location at beauty spots such as Lough Navar and Carrybridge to follow his first studio DVD released a number of years ago.

"Me and My Country" features a collection of songs from his last two albums including a song dedicated to his late mother Bridget "Mother's Song".

The song, he feels, contributed to being on his best-selling album so far. His mother died 12 years ago and she is still very much in his thoughts. "I was the youngest of 14 of a family and my mother meant an awful lot to me. I wrote the song in 12 minutes flat," he said.

The DVD is being promoted by his record company Shargem Music. he has already recorded three albums with the company.

The launch in Mahon's Hotel's Delaney Suite, is new venue for Anthony and he will be surrounded by support from fellow country acts including Lisa McHugh, Sean Corrigan of Glor Tire fame and John Garrity. A lifelong fan of Eamonn McCann, he is delighted that he is also playing on the night.

"I am bringing new performers to the launch like Karl Kirkpatrick from Derrygonnelly to give them an opportunity too. It is a new venue too and I am hoping to get a good crowd. It's a central place for Tyrone and Fermanagh," he said.

His family were interested in traditional music and he started listening to Merle Haggard and Randy Travis, and became a life-long fan. Therefore it was amazing for him to act as Randy Travis' support when he played the King's Hall, Belfast He said he gets great support from the Fermanagh public and thanks them for it. Anthony's launch takes place on December 12 at Mahon's Hotel.
