Creative Media student Cristian Mulligan has big plans.

The 19-year-old Rosslea man has reached the finals of Top Model UK and will compete in the grand final shows at The Hilton Metropole, London, on April 5.

He needs County Fermanagh to get behind him and to vote for him by logging onto www.topmodeluk.com, clicking on 2014 finalists and men.

The accomplished singer has also auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and is waiting to find out if he will be called for stage three auditions; in front of the TV cameras!

“I sang ‘Bring him Home’ from Les Miserables,” Cristian explains. “I love classical singing and my hope is to gain a scholarship for musical theatre in London or Glasgow.” The former St. Eugene’s College and Portora Royal School student now studies Creative Media in the South West College. “I love it; particularly the photography and film elements,” Cristian explains.

He got into modelling after he was contacted by Lurgan-based photographer Avril Mawhinney. “She is owner of Finese School of Modelling and I assisted her Top Model Ireland female contestant in November,” he explains.

Modelling is not all cat-fights and diets, like the stereotypes would have us believe. “There’s a lot of professionalism in modelling. Back-stage is very tense. They need to keep the models calm to ensure they do the best run possible to best display the designer’s clothes.” Cristian will be over in London one week every month until April practising runs, getting fitted with designers. His votes will aid charity Children With Cancer UK.

His favourite styles are men’s California and LA; a mix of casual daywear infused with the luxuriously extravagant by night.” His style icon is Spanish model Jon Kortajarenn – “known for his distinguishing chiselled cheekbones, effortless style and a dark, fly-away mop of hair.” Cristian concludes: “I hope 2014 will be my big year!”
