Twenty-one children from Belarus and Ukraine are currently visiting Fermanagh and Tyrone with the Chernobyl Children Appeal NI. Chairman and group leader, Eveline Smith, from Dromore, says she greatly enjoys her involvement with the venture, which this year is supported by 11 local host families. Eveline has two boys staying with her this year and mentions that she finds hosting very rewarding. (This is her third year to act as a host). As well as sharing in normal family life in the homes of their hosts, various activities are being arranged for the young visitors, who arrived on July 21 and are here until August 11. Two interpretators, who work in college in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, are accompanying the party. On Thursday, they paid a visit to Enniskillen Townhall, where they were extended a warm welcome by Council Chairman Thomas O'Reilly, who invited them to sign the visitors' books as a permanent record of their visit to the Townhall. He expressed the hope that the remainder of their visit would be very enjoyable.
