Ballinamallard United 4 Knockbreda 1 The Mallards turned in a convincing second half display to see of a determined Knockbreda Parsh with goals from Chris Curran, Ryan Campbell and James McKenna sealing the win after the game was tied 1-1 at the break.

Ballinamallard United manager Whitey Anderson had made five changes from the weekend with starts for Leon Carters, James McKenna, Steve Feeney, Stuart Hutchinson and Ryan Campbell getting starts and chances to impress for a starting spot in the league.

The Mallards started well with Feeney having the first chance but he shot straight at keeper and then Kee shot wide when put through.

The Mallards dominance was soon translated onto the scoreboard when Campbell gave them the lead in the 18th minute, slotting home from 14 yards after great work from Keohane.

Knockbreda showed their mettle though as they fought their way back into the game and only an excellent last ditch tackle from Hutchinson denied Corey as he scurried clear.

At the other end, Campbell has another good effort at goal after being set up by Martin but he pulled his shot wide of the far post.

The visitors were then levelled the game when Knockbreda sub Kevin O'Neill tucked away from a Corey cross on 36 minutes after which they enjoyed their best spell of the game.

Nevertheless, it was 1-1 at the break and the game was evenly poised.

Ballinamallard soon found theur rhythm again at the start of the second half and Campbell went close before Curran scored the crucial goal of the game.

Good work from the lively Martin played Curran in on the right hand side of the box and he drilled home to give the Mallards a lead they were not going to relinquish a second time.

Indeed, when Campbell made it 3-1 soon after it was game over and James McKenna capped the win with a fine individual goal as he raced through to make it 4-1 and easily book Ballinamallard's place in the third round. For reaction and all the latest on Ballinallard see Thursday's Impartial Reporter.
