A PATHOLOGY report into the murder of David Andrew Johnston in July has been delayed by four months, Enniskillen Magistrates Court has heard.

His brother, 33-year-old Raymond Johnston, Abbey Drive, Enniskillen, who is accused of stabbing him to death, appeared via video link from Maghaberry Prison on Monday this week.

The court was told that the results of finger print and blood analysis should be with the police by October 25, however there was a delay on the pathology report of four months.

A Public Prosecution Service representative said police believed nothing else would add to the delay in the case.

Although no application for bail was made for Mr Johnston on Monday, it was agreed his case be adjourned for four weeks to see if a "reasonable bail application" could be considered, given the expected delay.

District Judge Peter King acknowledged that it was "unlikely that significant progress will be made until well into the new year".

He adjourned the case until October 8 when Mr Johnston will appear again via video link.
