Enniskillen's Mark Hoy successfully defended his 5K Spooktacular title in Enniskillen on Friday as he was the first man home for the second year running, chased home by Enniskillen Running Club member Conan McCaughey.

The race was once again a great success with numbers up on last year and just under the 300 mark, attracting athletes from as far afield as Canada and Turkey.

On a cool, crisp autumnal night perfect for road running Hoy again showed his class to win with McCaughey second and Stephen Prentice third.

In the female category, Patricia O'Hagan came first, followed home by Denise Toner and Helen Stockdale.

Of course, there is more to the 5K Spooktacular than the elite runners at the top end of the field with a large turnout of fun runners, many of them turning out in fancy dress, adding colour and fun to this increasingly popular night time race.

The race entailed just over two laps of the town centre and all the runners recevived a specially commissioned unique technical running shirt introducing 'Usain Bones' as their mascot.
