Brookeborough native, Malcolm McDowell will debut as host of a his own new Country music show, Jetset Country, on Sky showcase TV this month.

He has already been in Fermanagh interviewing the likes of Nathan Carter, Philomena Begley and Aidan Quinn in preparation for the show that kicks off on Wednesday, November 14 at 7pm.

Jetset Country will feature intimate interviews with artists in their homes, in the recording studio and on location at concerts and shows. It will be the first Country Music TV show to be co-produced by teams in Nashville and Ireland.

Malcolm is now based in Belfast and his excellent music contacts come from his work as a music promoter.

He has a diverse array of experience in entertainment journalism, advertising, marketing, media promotion, events management, and publishing.

He has also worked as an agent for acts from the pop world including East-17, 911, The Cheeky Girls, Philip Magee and Tabby Callaghan.

Most recently, Malcolm signed three of the biggest Irish Country superstars - internationally renowned Mary Duff, Country and Gospel recording artist Ann Williamson, and Eurovision Showband legend Muriel Day.

Following this recent signing, Mary Duff, Ann Williamson and Muriel Day will tour together as the 'Follow The Girls' tour, taking in smaller, intimate cabaret venues around the world. The tour will feature an eclectic mixture of Country, Irish, Gospel, Nostalgia and Easy Listening to suit all tastes. Jetset Country will feature footage and backstage interviews from this exciting tour.

From March next year, Jetset Country will present 'The Grand Ole Opry of Ireland' shows from the brand new, state-of-the-art Titanic Theatre in Belfast, where legends of American Country Music will share the stage with local Irish talent. There are also plans to stage the largest Country Music Festival in Europe on the slipways where Titanic was built.

To kick-start the live events, Jetset Country Roadshows will take place around the country starting before Christmas this year. The first will take place in the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown on Thursday, December 6.

It will feature the iconic Roly Daniels, re-united with his original singing partner Ann Williamson. He will be joined by showband legends Muriel Day, Brendan Quinn and Eileen King.

As well as bridging the gap between Ireland and the USA, Jetset Country will offer greater potential to reach new audiences than other Country Music outlets that currently exist. As well as airing via Sky Showcase TV (Sky channel 191/Freesat 403), the show will be available through digital streaming platform My-TV-Now. As a result, the show will be viewable on iPod's, iPad's and other compatible devices around the world.

Other artists currently lined up to appear on Jetset Country include Ireland's New Voice and Image of Country Music, Nathan Carter, and the First Lady of Irish Country, Susan McCann.

The first show will air on Wednesday, November 14 and every Wednesday thereafter. Repeats will go out on Thursdays at 7pm and Saturdays at 8pm.

Malcolm is currently considering content to be featured on Jetset Country. Videos are selected based on their merits and not on a pay-to-play basis. Specialist introductory advertising rates and packages are also available.
