Jiving their way to success on an "electrifying" evening were dancing couple Sarah Tierney and Padraig Lunny who emerged as the overall winners of last night, Thursday's Westville Family Resource Centre's Not So Strictly fundraiser. Doreen Mullan, Westville Centre coordinator was thrilled with the achievements of this year's venture at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, and spoke of the "very electrifying" atmosphere in the room.

"It was a total success," reported Doreen, who spoke about the build up to the event when over 15,000 had been collected prior to the actual night through various fundraising initiatives. The overall figure is still being counted.

Ten dancing couples performed on November 8 and on November 22 - with votes from the eighth being carried forward to the 22nd; different audiences were in attendance on each evening.

The three final couples who went through to the final dance off last night were (winners) Padraig Lunny of Blakes of the Hollow and Lunny Imaging, and Sarah Tierney, coach of the Jets cheerleading team; Mickey Green, of the Manor House Hotel and Tina Quigley, Bank of Ireland; and Rosie Reihill, Corrys Chemist and Paddy Flanagan, a manager at ASDA.

On the night, all the dancing couples performed a group dance of the Charleston, and they also danced the tango and jive. In their final dances the jive was performed by Padraig and Sarah and by Rosie and Paddy, while Tina and Mickey danced the tango.

Doreen Mullan described the standard of dance as "very high" and she acknowledged all the dancers for the efforts they put in.

"I am absolutely delighted," said Doreen, who praised the performers. "They are a wonderful bunch - great advocates for us," felt Doreen, who added: "I am very proud of them." The evening's entertainment included a performance by members of the Jets cheerleading team.

The four judges were Louise Cullen, Paddy McDermott, Rosemary Lendrum and Tommy McLaughlin.
