The Rotary Santa Mobile - which requires little introduction in Fermanagh - has started its annual journey in the run-up to Christmas.

The distinctive vehicle, which was recently launched at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen (where the Enniskillen Rotarians meet for their weekly luncheon throughout the year) - will continue to be out and about today, Tuesday and coming days.

Each year, Enniskillen Rotary Club makes donations of 500 each to St. Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army at the Santa Mobile's launch. This year's presentations were made on December 10 by Rotary President Kenny Fisher.

The Santa Mobile took to the roads and visited Enniskillen yesterday, Monday, where it returns again today, Tuesday, December 18. Tomorrow, Wednesday, it will be in Lisnaskea, before returning to Enniskillen on Thursday. On Friday, it will make its way to Irvinestown.

The money raised is distributed to local charities throughout the following year, indicated Mr. Fisher, who mentioned that the Santa Mobile has been going 12 years now and has raised a total of 60,000 for local charities.

The Rotary Club is appreciative of the generous support given by the local community in raising such a large amount of money.

And as members of the Enniskillen Club don their "Santa hats" and accompany Santa Claus as he says 'Ho Ho' up the chimney, Mr. Fisher urges people to support them.
