Two men have been fined to-day for depositing waste tyres onto a bonfire site.

Bartley Downey(43) from Lisnagole Road, Maguiresbridge and Adrian Fisher(48) from Millbrook Park, Lisbellaw, were each fined £200 at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court for waste offence, relating to the depositing of waste tyres at a bonfire site without the appropriate waste management authorisation.

Bartley Downey (43) of Lisnagole Road, Maguiresbridge and Adrian Fisher (48) of Millbrook Park, Lisbellaw admitted to illegally depositing approximately the waste tyres on a bonfire site at Kilmacormick Road, Enniskillen.

NIEA’s investigation into the incident was prompted by PSNI officers, who visited the site in October 2013 and came across both men removing waste tyres from a vehicle and depositing them on the bonfire site.

The men's vehicle was seized and all waste tyres were disposed of at a fully authorised waste management facility.
