A MAN who was rescued from the River Erne in Enniskillen yesterday (Tuesday) morning has since died, the PSNI have confirmed.
Police said they received a report at around 10.30am that a man had been seen being “washed down” with the river close to Portora Wharf in Enniskillen, from the direction of the West Bridge.
Emergency services were tasked, along with the police boat. He was recovered from the water and brought to shore.
The man was conveyed to hospital for treatment, but the PSNI confirmed today (Wednesday) that he had since died.
“Police enquiries into his death are ongoing,” a PSNI spokeswoman added.
