The family of 30-year-old Simon Domer who died unexpectedly this week are grieving the loss of a “generous” man who made you feel “chuffed” to be in his company.

Most recently living in Hillview, Enniskillen with his partner Kelly Gallagher, Mr. Domer and Ms. Gallagher had previously lived in Fivemiletown. His funeral service took place in St. Mary’s Church, Fivemiletown on Monday, followed by burial at St. Malachy’s Church, Ballymacilroy.

Mr. Domer’s death in the early hours of Friday morning has left his family “broken” and “shocked”.

“We are so shocked. We don’t want to go back to normal because it’s not normal; it’s going to be a hard road ahead of us. I can’t even begin to imagine what I’m going to do without him,” said Ms. Gallagher.

“I am going to have to try and build a new life and a new routine because we were always together,” added his sister Lisa Domer.

Mr. Domer’s mother Claire recalled “a great son”, who she was deeply proud of. She told The Impartial Reporter: “Simon was always helping me out. He was a great son. He made me laugh and I was very proud of the young man he became. It will be hard to move on from this but he has left very fond memories behind.”

Ms. Gallagher continued: “Simon was so generous. He would have always seen to others before himself. He was very good to my two children and was always looking out for me. We had a lovely Christmas together and all his family were over. We had plans for this year, he wanted me to learn to drive, but now all those plans are gone.”

Ms. Domer outlined the special bond she shared with her “unreal brother”, saying: “Simon and I lived together on different occasions; we were joined at the hip right up until I got married three months ago. He was more than a brother; he was an agony aunt, a mother and a father all in one.”

The family will treasure the memories from Ms. Domer’s wedding day in The Silver Birches, Omagh, including Mr. Domer’s version of Gangnam Style.
Ms. Domer said: “We grew up without a father but when I stepped out of the car on the morning of my wedding I seen the look in Simon’s eyes and it was the look a father should have. He was so proud. To think that he was enjoying my wedding in October and we buried him three months later; it’s crazy.”

Paying tribute to a young man with an interest in art, Liverpool Football Club, old Ford Escort cars and a range of music such as Eminem and Three Doors Down, his family said: “He was an ear for you if you needed someone to talk to. You could always rely on him and he was always looking out for us. You never seen him without a smile on his face and when he walked into a room you got a chuffed feeling.

“He had these one liners and he always had to have the last word. He was the life and soul of the party and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

Mr. Domer is survived by his mother Claire; his partner Kelly and her children Nathan and Abbey; his sisters Lisa and Stephanie Domer; his brothers Stephen Domer and Curtis Breadon; his niece Mia; his nephews Blake and Mayson and his two children from a previous relationship, Henley (eight) and Jade (six).
