SINN Fein's Phil Flanagan has been selected to contest May's Assembly election but Michelle Gildernew has lost out after their party held a second selection convention.
Around 150 party members met in Enniskillen tonight where they selected current MLA Sean Lynch, Councillor John Feely and Mr. Flanagan to stand for election.
In a further twist, current Sinn Fein MLA Bronwyn McGahan put her name forward for selection despite announcing her decision last month to leave frontline politics. But like Ms Gildernew she too failed to secure a place.
Mr. Flanagan was thrown a lifeline by Sinn Fein after its leadership agreed to hold another selection convention in Fermanagh.
The results from the party’s internal vote in Lisnaskea in December in which members selected Ms Gildernew, Mr. Feely, Mr. Lynch and not Mr. Flanagan for the election were void.
