There were smiles all round as the Humble Helpers programme - an exciting new initiative aimed at primary schools across Ireland and the UK - was launched in Fermanagh.

Set in motion by Quintess Denta Ltd, based in Irvinestown, it is designed to educate children on a number of important modern topics, as well as giving them the opportunity to raise funds for their schools and other important causes around the globe.

Dentist and CEO James Hamill opened the recent event - held at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen - by introducing the Humble Brush, a bio-degradable bamboo tooth brush that is kind to the environment.
Enda Harte, Sales and IT Development Manager from Humble Brush, who designed the project, explained how the programme would work in local schools. Running over four weeks, pupils would be introduced to a number of important topics incorporating charity, oral health, healthy eating and the environment.

Using the information, children then have the opportunity to sell the Humble Brush to their friends and family – with all profits going back to help their schools or their nominated charity. As always, for each brush sold, Humble Brush will donate a free brush to the Humble Smile Foundation for its projects across the world.

Dr. Darren Weiss, President of the Humble Smile Foundation, who had flown in from Israel for the launch, explained a little more about what the donated Humble Brushes would help achieve. He spoke about the extraordinary work the organisation carries out around the world.

All present heard from well known celebrity chef Neven Maguire from MacNean Restaurant, Blacklion who was on hand to lend his culinary support to what he feels is a truly amazing project. As an ambassador for the Humble Helpers programme, Neven has provided some tasty and healthy recipes.

The turnout at the launch included children and teachers from both Counties Fermanagh and Leitrim, local Council representatives and local organisations.

Local schools wishing to get involved in the programme can contact Enda in the Humble Helpers Office on 028 686 28880 or enda@quintessdenta.com.
