Detectives investigating an armed robbery in Derrylin yesterday (Wednesday) have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

At around 12.35pm, two cash-in-transit delivery men in the Main Street area of Derrylin were making a cash delivery when they were approached by two unknown males, one of whom was armed with a suspected firearm.

The men threatened the delivery men before making off with a substantial sum of cash.

It is thought the culprits may have been wearing black beanie hats, one was wearing a high-vis jacket and the other was wearing a dark top or jacket.

Detective Inspector Brian Foster is appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery or anyone who saw any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of Main Street before or after the time of the robbery.

He said: "Did you see any suspicious vehicles in and around the vicinity of Main Street for a period of time prior to the robbery? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area at this time?

"If you can help with enquiries please contact Detectives in Enniskillen on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provided information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
