A MUSICAL celebration to raise funds in support of “two fantastic children’s charities” will take place in Irvinestown tomorrow evening, Thursday, February 11.

The Woods family of Ballinamallard have come together with local musicians and choirs to organise an evening of music and praise in memory of Tilly Walker.

The family wanted to raise funds for charities that help children like Tilly who live with life-limiting illnesses and will donate the proceeds from the concert to Horizon West Children’s Hospice. Their other chosen beneficiary is Africa Gospel Church Baby Centre. Located at Ngata, Kenya, it says it is “providing a safe haven for Kenya’s abandoned and orphaned babies. We minister to the ‘little ones’ of Kenya thereby impacting all of society”.

Musical acts, including Irvinestown Primary School, The Silvertones, Margaret Johnston, Roy Drenning, Amy and Elsie Henderson and Cup O’Joe will come together at the concert at Mahon’s Hotel on February 11.

Heather Gott, Community Fundraiser Horizon West, said they were delighted when they spoke with the family and learned of their plans for the concert “in aid of two fantastic children’s charities”.

She pointed out: “Horizon West currently provides care and support to 33 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families in the Fermanagh and Tyrone region. This is an essential service which is invaluable to these families and a lifeline to those who avail of the facilities at the hospice in Killadeas.”

Heather acknowledged that Carol and her family have put a lot of time and effort into making this concert a success and added that they greatly appreciate all of the hard work and organisation that have gone into “what is set to be a very special evening of music in memory of Tilly”.

Tickets are available in The Real Life Bookshop, Enniskillen, Irvinestown Primary School and NI Hospice Shop, Enniskillen. For further information, people can contact Heather Gott on 07711377338 or email heather.gott@nihospice.org
