What does being Head Girl mean to you?

Representing and looking out for the girls in my school. I have always felt the Head Girl should be an individual whom students can relate to. It has taught me a great deal about leadership and as developed my skills in public speaking.

Your plans after school:

I hope to go to UCD to study Engineering. I intend to study all disciplines and then specialise in the final two years.

Your career aspirations:

Electronic Engineering is the field that I think I will most likely specialise in as I love the maths involved and enjoy electronics in Technology and Design. I hope to complete a Master’s Degree in Engineering, possibly in Space Science and Technology.

Will you consider emigrating; if so, where?

Yes, if I was to emigrate I would like to go somewhere sunny and warm, perhaps the United States.

Please outline any extra responsibilities you have within school:

My responsibilities include planning the 7th year formal, chairing the Student Council, aiding the committees, delivering speeches at public events, such as prize night and open night, and making pupils and visitors feel welcome in the school.

What are your hobbies and interests outside school?

I am a big fan of Gaelic Football, playing for my school, club and county. I also enjoy coaching the younger players at my local club, Lisnaskea Emmetts. I have just recently started soccer for the Fermanagh Mallards. I love listening to music and learning my favourite songs on the ukulele. When I have spare time I like to bake with my younger brother and I also play football with him! My cousin and I like to help our auntie Rhona at our local Faith and Light group.

What social media sites do you use and why?

I use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat to keep in touch with my older sisters, relatives and friends. They are also a great way to follow new music as well as keeping up with engineering and space news.
What are your views on

Shared vs integrated education:

I am in favour of integrated education as it is more reflective of third level education practice and the functioning of the wider society. Last year I studied Physics in the Enniskillen Collegiate and I really enjoyed getting to know the girls.

Northern Ireland’s politicians:

I hope that the new First Minister continues to build on the efforts of her predecessors to ensure all parties work together to create a better future for Northern Ireland. I am pleased that our new First Minister also is a woman from Fermanagh!

Country music:

I really dislike country music and I am terrible at jiving! I prefer to listen to a range of rock and alternative music from Arctic Monkeys to David Bowie.
