THE developers of the Ora More wind farm, between Boho and Belcoo, have given a commitment to reinstate the roads used for access to the site to their original condition within the next two months.

Local councillors held an informal meeting with representatives from renewable energy company, NTR plc, after concerns had been raised over the detrimental effect of the heavy traffic coming to and from the construction site of the wind farm, which is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Independent councillor, Bernice Swift, had sought to meet with the wind farm owners after alleging that the heavy goods vehicles had contributed to the “extremely atrocious” state of the local roads.

Martin Sweeney, a program manager with NTR plc, said the discussions with the councillors had been “very constructive”.

Mr Sweeney said: “NTR outlined the coordination they have had with Transport NI, since before construction commenced and ongoing coordination. We also reiterated our commitment to reinstate roads used for access to the wind farm to their original condition, and intend to have these works completed within the next two months.”
