John Feely, Sinn Fein

Q: “How will you prove yourself given that you don't have the experience of being in Stormont like your fellow running mates?”

A: “Eleven years experience working in the public sector. Experience working in tourism and agri-sectors. Twenty years actively working on the ground locally and two years experience being an elected councillor. I'll prove myself the way I always prove myself, being a hard working team player, who always does his best for everyone.”

Q: “What is the first thing you will do for the working-class people of Fermanagh-south Tyrone?”

A: “The same thing I already do for them as a councillor. Represent them, work for them, fight for them.”

Q: “How will you help the very many working mums in our community?”

A: “All mums are working mums. Whether they decide to return to paid employment or not after having children, they should be supported in every way possible, whatever their decision. This includes affordable childcare, access to childcare and flexible working hours.”

Q: “What measures will you put in place to improve the health of your constituents?”

A: “The health service is in crisis in the 26 Counties, it's in crisis over in Britain, it's facing massive challenges here in the North. I am not foolish enough to try to answer that question with a sound bite or a few glib lines. All parties have to work together to improve the health service.

But one of the biggest threats to health in Fermanagh-south Tyrone and Ireland is fracking. I, and Sinn Féin, are committed to never allowing it to happen.”

In general health terms, sporting clubs around Fermanagh-south Tyrone do a great job keeping young and old, fit and active whilst also aiding positive mental health. From bowling clubs to GAA clubs, from swimming clubs to boxing clubs, all, and I mean all, should be helped and supported.”

Q: “How will you appeal to those who believe Stormont has failed the people of Fermanagh-south Tyrone?”

A: “Some parties in the assembly have failed the people of Fermanagh-south Tyrone, in terms of failing to deliver on jobs and failing to deliver on equality.”
