Richie McPhillip's son has been selected to fill his seat on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
The Impartial Reporter can reveal that Garbhan McPhillips, 30, will be co-opted to fill Richie McPhillip's Erne East council seat.
Richie McPhillips had been a Councillor on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council but his seat was left vacant whe he was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly on May 5.
His son Garbhan has been selected by the party tonight and will now become the Erne East Councillor, joining fellow Fermanagh SDLP Councillors Brendan Gallagher, John Coyle and Particia Rogers.
