Enniskillen's Michael McGovern produced a man of the match performance to keep Northern Ireland's hopes of making the last 16 of the European Championships alive.
Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to a 29th minute Mario Gomez goal but McGovern was in superb form, making six to seven top class saves to deny the likes of Thomas Muller, Mario Gotze and Mario Gomez.
The saves could be crucial with the top four third placed teams qualifying for the last 16, Northern Ireland are now the second ranked third placed team with fixtures in three other groups to be completed.
Northern Ireland looked like being overrun in the first half by a rampant Germany but McGovern kept them at bay, saving one on one efforts on more than one occasion.
Indeed, Michael finished the game with the most touches and the most passes of the Northern Ireland team reflecting the pressure the team was under.
For a man out of contract, this was a great performance, putting himself in the shop window on the world stage.
Speaking to the BBC, the official man of the match expressed his pride in the performance while modestly admitting to being a bit busier between the sticks.
He agrees it will be a nervous 24 hours to see how the other groups pan out.
Kyle Lafferty was a second half substitute and worked hard but with limited possession he was unable to get a chance to maybe score a famous goal.
