Centenarian Mrs. Susan McGinley, who was in her 103rd year, passed away peacefully at the Tilery Nursing Home in Co. Fermanagh on July 12, 2016.
Fondly remembered as a woman who would have done anything for anyone, she had recently marked her 102nd birthday on June 29.
Susan, who was at the Tilery since March 2014, was originally from Gowlan, Co. Cavan. She moved to Holywell, Belcoo, in 1942 following her marriage to the late Johnny McGinley.
They settled and made their home there and had a family of four children: Gerald Francis; Eddie; Beatrice Walsh (who died in October 2011); and Eileen Quinn.
Susan focused very much on her home and family and she loved her garden. She liked sewing and was talented with her hands.
A grandmother of 19 and great grandmother of 33, she really enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved.
A family member, speaking this week, said Susan had been in great health until her 100th birthday, and remembered her as very lady like, very quiet and that she would have done anything for anyone.
Susan's funeral took place at St. Patrick's Church, Holywell, and burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
