Everyone going out for a special occasion would want to have fine food, good company and a scenic setting on a summer’s evening.
These were all the ingredients of the “Banquet by the Lake” held at Castle Archdale Caravan Park on Saturday evening to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The regular users of this popular park first opened in 1966, all turned out in their dinner suits and evening dresses to mark a special occasion.
According to Park Manager, Carol Noble, some of the longest tenants were among the 100 people who dined and danced in the special marquee erected on the edge of the park close to the edge of Lower Lough Erne.
The guests were firstly entertained by the Kennedy trio before Saddlers served a five-course banquet meal. Afterwards the guests danced to Shamie H.
Some of those attending included one long-term tenant who has been coming to the Park for 42 years and many others for over 30 years.
The banquet also marked the August theme of Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink, “Love NI Meat” and the menu reflected this.
