FERMANAGH and South Tyrone MP Tom Elliott has welcomed the arrival of high speed mobile internet in Enniskillen, but has vowed to put further pressure on the government to ensure adequate broadband and telephone network services are made available across the whole constituency.

Telecommunications company, Vodafone UK, has announced that it has started to roll out its 4G network in Enniskillen, while also making improvements to its 3G network.

Welcoming the announcement, Mr Elliott said:

“This is hopefully good news for visitors, traders and residents in Enniskillen.

“The 4G service will now cover a wider area of Enniskillen, allowing more people to connect to the internet quicker than ever.

“It will also be a huge benefit to local businesses as they can now connect more quickly, allowing for increased productivity.”

The Ballinamallard man said the 4G service was “long overdue” in Enniskillen, adding that he hoped it would benefit everyone in the area.

“The improvements to the current 3G service should also mean people are connected quicker to the internet, which again has many benefits with it,” he said.

“I will be continuing to put pressure on the government to ensure adequate broadband and telephone network services are made available across the entirety of Fermanagh and South Tyrone,” Mr Elliott added.
