Belle Isle Estate, Lisbellaw and Lough Erne Resort together with six other tourism companies from the island of Ireland travelled to Florida this week, to take part in a sales blitz with Tourism Ireland.
First stop was the annual Global Travel Marketplace (GTM) in Fort Lauderdale – a three-day, appointment-only event targeting influential travel advisors from North America. Then it was on to Sarasota, to take part in Tourism Ireland’s ‘Jump into Ireland’ event, where the tourism operators had the opportunity to meet, and do business with, some 50 top-producing travel agents, as well as influential travel journalists.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “2016 looks set to be another record-breaking year for visitor from the United States. We are undertaking an extensive programme of promotions throughout 2016, to keep that momentum going. Our sales blitz in Florida this week provides a really good platform to spread the word about the many great things to see and do in Northern Ireland and right around the island of Ireland.”
