The First Minister, the Right Honourable Arlene Foster, heard about plans for a new build at Enniskillen Model Primary School during a recent visit to the school.

Enniskillen Model Primary School Principal Mr. Winston Glass said that the school was delighted to host the First Minister.

“During the morning she gave freely of her time and took a warm interest in the life and work of the school,” he said.

On-site works of the new school build are scheduled to begin early next year.

Mr. Glass said that staff, pupils and governors were keen to share information about the new build given the advanced stage that the project has now reached.

“Detailed drawings and an artist’s impression to show how the new school will look in the not too distant future were shared with the First Minister - who has been particularly supportive of progressing the development of this site in recent years,” he added.

Mrs. Foster said that pupils had made her most welcome during her visit. “It was a great pleasure to visit the staff and pupils of Enniskillen Model Primary School. The pupils made me feel warmly welcome through their drama and musical talents. The Model Primary School plays a huge role in preparing local children for secondary education ahead of their future career plans. I look forward to seeing the future growth and development of the school in the years ahead.”
