AN up-and-coming indie rock band from Fermanagh are holding a launch night for their new EP later this week.
Bare Bear, from Enniskillen, are celebrating the release of their debut EP with a special gig at the Atrium in Blakes of the Hollow on Friday, January 6.
Also on the bill on the night will be Gnarkats, Far Caspian and Darren Miller, of Black Chapels fame.
Since it was released in November, the three-track EP, simply called Bare Bear, has received a good reception from local music critics.
One of the songs, ‘Venice Is Sinking’, was chosen as a ‘Track for the Day’ by the BBC Radio Ulster music show, Across The Line (ATL).
The interest in the EP has been welcomed by band member, former Portora Royal pupil Ben Forbes.
Speaking to ATL, the Northumbria University law student said: “Venice Is Sinking, like the other songs on the EP, were written by me on my acoustic in my bedroom while I was at uni. The following summer me and my friend recorded the EP in his living room back in Enniskillen.”
Doors will open for the launch night at 9pm. Admission will cost £5.
The EP is available to download from the website, Bandcamp. Physical copies can be purchased on the night.
