A LOCAL alternative metal band that is keen to get back touring has made an urgent appeal for a new drummer and rhythm guitarist.

Hailing from the Enniskillen music scene, Attack The Day are on the lookout for talented musicians based anywhere near Fermanagh who will help them write new material and get back to gigging.

The group is currently made up of lead vocalist Daithi Murphy (18), from Threemilehouse in Monaghan, lead guitarist Mark Cadden (19), from Newtownbutler, and 20-year-old bassist, Ciaran Fitzpatrick, from Lisnaskea.

Ciaran also performs backing vocals both live and on recording.

Since forming almost four years ago, the post hardcore/ alternative metal band have played venues across Ireland, including a week-long tour with Scottish band The Colony and two fellow Enniskillen bands, Black Chapels and Sense Deficiency.

In May last year, they released second EP, ‘Felons’, which was a huge step forward for the band musically and given a very good reception among critics and reviewers in the scene.

However, they then suffered a setback in August when one of the band members left, leaving them without both a drummer and rhythm guitarist and, in their own words, “quite crippled”.

Currently a three-piece, Attack The Day is hoping to recruit two new members in order to get back on the road.

A message posted on their Twitter account recently stated: “we’re still looking for a rhythm guitarist and a drummer based anywhere in the NI area that’s near Fermanagh. the search is desperate RT x”

In a statement released to The Impartial Reporter this week, Attack The Day added: “For any musicians out there that are interested in joining the band, we are a band that loves to put on an intense live show and we are hoping to take this band somewhere.”
