FORMER Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has broken his silence to condemn death threats to Arlene Foster as “shameful and totally unacceptable.”

As revealed by The Impartial Reporter yesterday, Mrs. Foster has informed the PSNI about several sinister threats made against her on social media, including “one that wanted me beheaded.”

Mr. McGuinness, who resigned on Monday, tweeted: “The reported threats to Arlene Foster are shameful and totally unacceptable. I unreservedly condemn those responsible for the cowards they are.”

UUP leader Mike Nesbitt tweeted: “Just hearing of alleged threat to Arlene Foster. No place for it. Totally  unacceptable. I condemn unequivocally.”

Secretary of State James Brokenshire said: "The threats received by Arlene Foster are completely unacceptable and have no place in our democracy."
