Fermanagh 0-10 Galway 1-13 Galway produced a strong second half display to inflict a first defeat in Division Two on Fermanagh at Brewster Park today.

Fermanagh had enjoyed the better of things in the first half as they went in at the break with as four point advantage but Damian Comer fired to the net 15 seconds into the second half and Galway controlled the game after this to run out winners.

A swirling breeze made life difficult for both sides but it was Fermanagh who were the more assured in the opening spell as Aidan Breen floated over the opening score of the game.

However, Pete McGrath's men were to suffer a blow when they lost captain Eoin Donnelly to a black card although the lively Eddie Courtney doubled the home side's advantage.

Galway hit back to level things as Michael Daly and Paul Conroy chipped over points but the Ernemen got their noses back in front as Courtney rattled over his second point of the contest from a fine pass from Sean Quigley but Galway again responded with a Barry McHugh free.

Both sides had shouts for penalties that were waved away by referee Jerome Henry but it was Fermanagh who finished the half stronger as they accounted for the final four points of the period.

Tomas Corrigan landed a fine point from a free before Quigley drilled over a 45 and a long range free. And then Roslea man wrapped up the scoring with a left footed effort to leave it 0-07 to 0-03 at the break.

Donnelly's presence was badly missed in the second half with Galway taking over at midfield and Galway struck a major blow within the first 15 seconds of the half as they made the perfect start to the half with Comer finishing low to the net from a Conroy pass.

Barry Mulrone fired over a good point in response but Galway went on to level things as Barry McHugh tapped over a free and Eamon Brannigan landed a point.

A terrific Corrigan effort nudged Fermanagh back ahead, 0-9 to 1-5 but Galway hit the next seven points to move six points clear.

Daly, McHugh, Conroy, Comer and Thomas Flynn all struck scores to put the away side into a comfortable position and Fermanagh's day was made even worse when they had defender Cian McManus red carded.

Lee Cullen did knock over a point for Fermanagh late on but Comer had the last say of the game to leave it 1-13 to 0-10 at the finish.
