"Life won’t be the same again," says Simon Stenson, the fiancé of Michelle Reilly (33), whose sudden death last week came just weeks after the sudden death of her youngest sister Shauna.

The two sudden deaths have cast Simon and the Reilly family into a world of grief and pain.

“We are never going to get over this, ever. The only comfort we have is that Shauna and Michelle are together again,” the family told The Impartial Reporter.

Simon remembers how Michelle, who worked for 11 years in Quinn Insurance, caught his eye when they were 17 on a bus to a nightclub.

He never forgot her.

When they became a couple in 2010 and he brought Michelle home to meet his mother, his mother said: “You’re going to marry that girl.”

The couple moved in together in 2013 and Simon popped the question in March 2016. He recalls that Michelle “ran around the house screaming and I had to ask if it was a yes or a no!”

He explains that Michelle “couldn’t wait to get married” and that she had paid off the deposit for the Slieve Russell Hotel one week after their engagement – it was the hotel she had always dreamed of having her wedding reception in.

They were due to be married next March.

Simon smiles as he notes that both he and Michelle were born on the same day as their fathers.

He will treasure these “bittersweet” memories in the difficult times ahead.

“She was a character,” Simon said.

“Life won’t be the same again.

"I was always with Michelle.

"Myself and the Reillys are all family now.

"We will have to get each other through it.”
