Severfield (NI) Ltd has launched its fourth Annual Fisher Cycle Challenge which will take place on Saturday 20th May 2017.

The Fisher Cycle Challenge is proving to be an incredibly popular event in Northern Ireland’s sporting calendar and with three separate routes of 22, 45 and 75 miles – each taking in the stunning views of Country Fermanagh - it caters for all abilities of cyclists. Each route, slightly varied from previous years, will carry its own challenges through the rolling hills and the additional challenge of King and Queen of the Mountain up to the stunning Lough Navar Viewpoint is open to all 75 mile participants. The cycle routes will be fully signed, marshaled and provided with feed stations. In addition, cyclists will receive re-fueling snacks, chip timing record, and event technical t-shirt. Full changing and showering facilities will be available for all participants and refreshments and entertainment will be provided on return to Severfield.

Each year, the Cycle Challenge chooses some local charities to support with the funds raised from by the event. The four charities chosen to benefit from the 2017 cycle are:

Cancer Connect (NI): a Co. Fermanagh charity in Northern Ireland, supporting and guiding those affected by cancer.

Fermanagh Stroke Association: a charitable organisation set up to support stroke survivors in the local area to make the best recovery that they can.

The Severfield Foundation: a registered charitable organization raising funds for, and offering practical assistance to, charitable bodies throughout the UK, through the activities of Severfield employees and companies. The national charity chosen by The Severfield Foundation in 2017 will be Prostate Cancer UK; Jengana: A registered Christian charity with strong roots in County Fermanagh providing funding and help to the underprivileged children in Kenya.

Representatives from the four chosen charities including Lisa McHugh, patron of Cancer Connect (NI), joined Brian Keys, Severfield NI’s Managing Director, and members of the Severfield Charity Committee at the launch. Last year’s King of the Mountain, Karol Dolan, was also at the launch and has vowed to defend his title.

Further information will be made available via the event Facebook page and at www.fishercyclechallenge.co.uk , including detailed maps and arrangements for the day of the event. Entries can also be made via www.sientries.co.uk (search for Fisher Cycle Challenge). This event is not a race but an enjoyable yet challenging leisure cycle.
