ALLIANCE candidate Noreen Campbell wants to shake up education in Fermanagh-south Tyrone by allowing parents to decide what suits their children best.
The former teacher and principal of an integrated school was previously the chief executive of Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education.
“For me the problem is the parallel education of our children based on the accident of birth as to whether they are perceived as green or orange. I think you change things by doing through a consultation with parents and actually listening to what people think,” she said.
Mrs. Campbell, who was raised in Belcoo, says politics here “has been based on incompetence.”
“The way in which the electorate have been insulted by the two major parties is absolutely ridiculous,” she said.
