A very successful business networking event, ‘Enterprising Women’s Room 101’ in the Ardhowen Theatre targeted local female entrepreneurs and attracted over 30 business owners.
The event, which was organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in association with the Network for Enterprising Women (NEW), provided local female entrepreneurs with the opportunity to network, to share their business knowledge and experiences and to hear first-hand the inspiring business experiences of guest speakers, which included Shauna Gallagher from The Natural Beauty Pot, Enniskillen, who outlined her experience of successful business collaboration.
Linda Johnston from Enniskillen, encouraged the audience to “Make 2017 Your Best Year Yet” which generated a lot of audience participation and Marella Fyffe, owner of The Bamboo Loft Yoga Centre based in Omagh also shared her interesting story on business acumen in her line of business.
From the outset, the atmosphere enveloping the event was one of positivity and passion for business. During the day, participants were offered the opportunity to avail of ‘Five minutes of Fame’, which provided them with a platform to talk for five minutes about their businesses, as well as numerous networking opportunities to swap business cards and develop vital business contacts.
Speaking after the networking event, the Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said:
“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council was delighted to support this excellent event. I was proud to have been afforded the opportunity to address the audience of female entrepreneurs and as the first citizen of the district and also as a female, I was able in my own way, to demonstrate that women can more than make an impact in any sphere of society.”
Teresa O’Loughlin, Chair for the Network for Enterprising Women, said:
“The event was a resounding success and I want to thank everyone involved for their input in making this a truly unique event.I want to commend the Council for supporting females in business and I really hope we can build on this great foundation, so that we continue to encourage and support enterprising women.”
