A book of condolence in memory of Martin McGuinness has been opened at Enniskillen Townhall by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
SDLP Chairperson Mary Garrity told The Impartial Reporter that Mr. McGuiness had a “remarkable political career” and “one that I believe resulted in a genuine desire for peace and reconciliation.”
“From that point of view I thought it was apt that we had this book of condolence, we discussed it and had full support from the entire Council members, albeit some will have difficulty,” she said.
Councillor Garrity added: “I pray for Martin, his family, for all victims and survivors of our past troubled years. I hope that the lessons we have all learnt are not in vain and that lasting peace will be his legacy.”
The book of condolence will be available for signing by members of the public at Enniskillen, Townhall  (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm) and will remain open until Friday, April 14.
