TWO men arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr over six years ago have been released unconditionally, the PSNI have confirmed.

Constable Kerr (25), who served in Enniskillen, was killed in April 2011 when a dissident republican bomb exploded in his car outside his home in Omagh.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch arrested the men under the Terrorism Act.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Omagh, while a 40-year-old man was produced into police custody from prison, a PSNI spokesperson said.

The two men were taken to Musgrave’s Serious Crime Suite to be questioned by detectives.

However, a PSNI spokesperson confirmed today that the two men have been released unconditionally.
