THE family of Peadar Phair, the man who murdered Concepta Leonard in her home on Monday afternoon have spoken of the “deep trauma” that the “horrific tragedy” has caused.
Ms. Leonard was fatally wounded in the knife attack and her disabled son Conor sustained serious injuries before the 55 year old killer took his own life in the house on Abbey Road. It’s understood Mr. Phair from the Castle Lane area of Lisnaskea died about 20 minutes after paramedics reached him.
In a statement issued to The Impartial Reporter yesterday (Wednesday), Mr. Phair’s family said they wished to acknowledge “the deep trauma that these tragic events have inflicted upon the Leonard family.”
“We understand that no words of ours can lessen the pain and grief that these tragic events have brought to the family. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Concepta’s family and we pray for a full recovery to good health for Conor.”
The Phair family spokesperson added: “We will be making no further comment about this horrific tragedy and we would ask the media to respect our privacy in the coming days.”
