The death on May 8, 2017, of Mrs. Lynda Greene, a much loved wife and mother of three, aged 53, has been met with much sadness in the county and farther afield.

A Human Resources Manager throughout her career, Lynda’s passing occurred at the South West Acute Hospital, peacefully, after an illness.

Late of Swanlinbar Road, Arney, Lynda, née Kinsella, was a daughter of Mina Kinsella and the late Dickie. Second in a family of four, she leaves her sister Yvonne, and her brothers Ian and Raymond.

She was educated at Mount Lourdes Grammar School, followed by Queen’s University Belfast, where she achieved an economics degree. She did a Masters in HR.

During her career, Lynda worked for Belfast City Council and also for Desmonds across Northern Ireland until the start of her illness in 2008, serving as a HR Manager. She married Eugene Greene and they had a family of three: Eva; Amy and Darragh.

The couple made their home in Fermanagh, initially at Meadow Lane, Enniskillen, and then in Arney.

Lynda courageously fought a cancer battle since 2008, and she lived life to the full during those nine years.

Among the interests she enjoyed was her involvement in Cancer Connect and Horizon West Children’s Hospice.

Her funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Enniskillen was led by Fr. Raymond Donnelly. It was concelebrated by Fr. Brian D’Arcy, who also did the homily.

The other priests who took part were Fr. Eugene Drumm and Fr. Michael Drumm, who married Eugene and Lynda in 1989, and also Fr. Finnegan, based in Arney, and Fr. Charles O’Gorman, of Killinagh Parish, Blacklion. Burial was at the Cross Cemetery, Enniskillen.

Large crowds in attendance at Lynda’s wake and her funeral reflected her wide circle of friends.

Lynda is survived by her husband Eugene, and their children, Eva, Amy and Darragh. She leaves her mother Mina and her sister and brothers, Yvonne, Ian and Raymond, the wider family circle and her friends.

Eugene thanks people for their support, in particular the doctors and nurses who looked after Lynda both in the Ulster Independent Clinic and South West Acute Hospital, and he also acknowledges her close circle of friends.
