AT least 150 bales of hay were destroyed in a fire in a hay shed in Bellanaleck on Sunday evening, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has confirmed.
Three fire appliances, two from Enniskillen Fire Station and one from Irvinestown Fire Station, attended the incident on Cleenish Island just after 7.30pm.
The blaze which has been determined as accidental caused structural damage to the adjoining property and livestock had to be moved from one side of the shed.
Firefighters finished at the scene at 11.44pm.
Meanwhile it has emerged that two other fires were reported in the Cleenish area of Bellanaleck on the same night last month.
The first report to the emergency services at 7.52pm on June 30 concerned a telehandler which had been on fire. The blaze was out on the arrival of firefighters from Enniskillen.
But over three hours later at 11.17pm firefighters were called to a second fire at the same telehandler which this time was “well alight.”
A NIFRS spokeswoman said the cause of the second fire was “undetermined.”
